Biarritz Pays Basque Maider Arosteguy — 40th edition

The Biarritz Pays Basque Maider Arosteguy is the oldest surf competition in Europe. Founded in 1984, it marks the start of the French surf season every year. For 2026, moved to the Pentecost weekend, it celebrates its 40th edition with a prize money of €20,000. Over 200 surfers from the Northern and Southern Basque Country, France, Spain and beyond.
