Biarritz Latin America Festival 2026

📍 Casino, Gare du Midi & cinéma Le Royal · 19h

Culture · Cinema · Latin America

For one week Biarritz swaps Basque for Spanish and runs on Latin American time. Cinema, concerts, salsa classes and a craft market: one of the liveliest programmes of the autumn, and a complete change of scene without leaving the Grande Plage.

The Biarritz Latin America Festival is first and foremost cinema — features, documentaries and short films in competition, screenings and premieres at Le Royal and the Gare du Midi. But it would be a mistake to stop there, because the heart of it often happens after the screening.

What happens once the lights come up

Evening concerts, salsa, bachata and tango classes, panel discussions, and that craft market in the Casino from which nobody leaves with less than they intended. This is a festival that spills out of its venues, and that is precisely what makes it endearing.

The local tip

Do not build your week around the premieres. Take a session of short films in competition — that is where you see what Latin American cinema is actually making — then follow it with a concert. And if you cannot dance, go to the salsa class anyway: nobody is watching.

A complete change of scene without leaving the Grande Plage.
