L’Expérience Théâtrale at the Gare du Midi
Culture · Theatre · Gare du Midi
A touring comedy, on a Saturday in November. The kind of evening that fills halls without making noise — and which, on the Basque coast, rarely comes round twice.
The Gare du Midi regularly programmes touring comedies between concerts, and it is an important part of its balance: these evenings bring in an audience that does not necessarily turn out for dance or contemporary music.
A hall that does everything
A former imperial station restored in 1991, the Gare du Midi hosts festivals, theatre, dance, comedy and conventions alike. Its two auditoriums, seating 1,400 and 230, allow that range without anything feeling out of place.
The local tip
On touring comedies, the cast can change between announcement and performance. Check the line-up with the official box office before booking if you are coming for a particular name.
Touring theatre, the quiet backbone of the season.
