The band tour their fourth album, Spells From The Drunken Sirens, where electronica meets world music. One of the most distinctive bills of the Atabal’s autumn.

Orange Blossom have long worked a rare material: voices from elsewhere, strings, machines, and a sense of crescendo that owes as much to rock as to trance music. The result resembles no identifiable genre, which probably explains why the band remains less known than it deserves.

A fourth album to defend

Spells From The Drunken Sirens continues that logic of sonic travel without falling into the easy world-music trap that stalks this kind of project. It is a record made to be played loud, which makes it a good fit for the Atabal’s system.

The local tip

An 8pm set on a Saturday: the most comfortable slot of the Atabal season, with time to eat beforehand and no early start the next day. Tickets are sold online, and this venue tends to fill in the final week.
