Cité de l’Océan: Interactive museum about the ocean. Open daily. Entry approx. €13.
Musée Historique: History of Biarritz from whale fishermen to Empress Eugénie. Free entry on Wednesdays.
Rocher de la Vierge: Free access — unmissable at sunset.
Shopping and markets
Town centre shops generally close on Sundays except in high season. Les Halles market on Saturday mornings. Numerous surf shops and local craft shops around the Grande Plage.
Budget
Biarritz is an expensive city in high season. Budget €15-20 for lunch, €30-50 for dinner (without wine). Beaches are free. Parking in the centre can cost up to €3/hour in August.
