Fakear at the Atabal — French electronica on album tour

Fakear takes over the Atabal on 24 September to tour his new album, a nice place to be, alongside the mixtape Open World. One of the few French electronic names calling at the Basque coast this season.

An established producer and DJ, Fakear broke through with Animal, certified gold, and a melodic electronica built on world samples that has been widely imitated since. The live show is a different exercise from the records: more physical, more structured, and considerably less polite.

What you come for

Not a DJ set but a set built as a narrative, where the familiar tracks act as landmarks between more abstract passages. In the Atabal’s 700 standing capacity the format works far better than in large halls, where this kind of project tends to dissolve.

The local tip

Doors at 7.30pm: on electronic nights it is worth arriving on time, as the Atabal often books local artists to open. And plan your way back — La Négresse is not served late at night.
