Eicher takes his eighteenth studio album, Poussière d’or, released in November 2025, onto the stage. A voice everyone knows by heart without quite knowing from where, and a repertoire that has crossed forty years without ageing.

Stephan Eicher belongs to that rare category of artist everyone has heard without ever buying a record. Two or three tracks on heavy rotation in the nineties, and behind them a far broader body of work that the stage reveals better than radio ever did.

An eighteenth album, and still no routine

Poussière d’or explores new sonic territory without abandoning his signature: that slightly withdrawn voice, the trailing accent, arrangements that leave room to breathe. Live, the whole thing takes on a density the studio never gave it.

The local tip

This is the kind of concert where the audience knows three songs and discovers the other twenty. Go without revising: Eicher builds his sets to carry a room from A to B, and the effect works far better when you do not know what is coming.

Forty years in, and nothing that sounds like a greatest hits set.
