Chapitre 3, with Naim, at the Gare du Midi
Music · Concert · Gare du Midi
The Gare du Midi season restarts with Chapitre 3, joined by Naim. An October evening in the former imperial station — Art Nouveau façade outside, modern acoustics inside.
Some dates you circle on the programme without quite knowing what to expect. This is one of them, and that is precisely the appeal: the Biarritz cultural season needs evenings where you buy a ticket out of curiosity rather than reflex.
The venue alone is worth the trip
Restored in 1991, the former imperial station — the one Napoleon III passed through — holds two auditoriums, seating 1,400 and 230. Its Art Nouveau façade is among the finest in town, and the main hall’s acoustics are unforgiving of approximate performers.
The local tip
On early-season dates, the best seats stay available longer than you would think. There is no need to rush the front row: the sound is excellent at the back of the stalls, and usually cheaper.
October: the town empties, the programme fills up.
