The Village des Bodegas — Basque aperitivo sets up headquarters
Food & drink · Scènes Estivales · Town centre
The Basque aperitivo has found its headquarters. Food stalls, bodegas and a DJ set: for a few days the evening stretches out on its own and you leave far later than intended.
The Village des Bodegas is part of the town’s Scènes Estivales, and one of the rare August fixtures where you meet as many locals as holidaymakers. You come for a drink, you stay for the sharing plates, and the night ends somewhere between an improvised singalong and a final round.
What you will find
Food stalls, bodegas set up for the occasion, and a DJ set for the second half of the evening. The principle is simple and has always worked: you eat standing, you share a table with strangers, and nobody checks the time.
The local tip
Come early if you want to eat in peace, late if you are here for the atmosphere — the two crowds barely overlap. And bring cash: not every stall takes cards.
You come for one drink and leave a great deal later.
